Energy-Efficient and Eco-Friendly Housing Program to Be Implemented
The
Ministry of Urban Development, Construction, and Housing, in collaboration with
the World Bank, the Central Bank of Mongolia, the Mongolian Mortgage
Corporation, and commercial banks, held a meeting with their joint working
group. The discussion focused on ensuring the sustainability and long-term
implementation of an accumulation fund initiative.
World
Bank researchers highlighted that the current mortgage loan system primarily
supports high-priced housing options that are often beyond the purchasing power
of citizens. They recommended providing subsidized loans for energy-efficient
and environmentally friendly individual housing units, which would better match
the financial capabilities of the population.
Planned Initiatives for 2025 and Beyond:
- Development of Standalone Homes: Emphasis will be placed on
constructing individual housing units in areas without access to
centralized utility systems, supported by independent infrastructure
solutions.
- Diversified Housing Options: Programs will prioritize
energy-efficient, eco-friendly standalone homes and rental housing to
cater to various housing needs.
These
initiatives aim to reduce soil and air pollution while offering affordable and
sustainable housing solutions for citizens.
