"Officials Discuss Extension of Child Protection Compact Partnership in Mongolia"

The meeting between N. Bayarmaa, Director of the Family Policy Implementation Coordination Department of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, and Muriel Adams, Specialist of the Political Department of the U.S Embassy in Mongolia, centered on the extension of the Child Protection Compact Partnership established in 2020 between the Government of Mongolia and the United States Department of State. During the meeting, discussed the progress of the program and exchanged views on its potential extension.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Mongolia outlined the key expected outcomes of the Child Protection Law reform and the amendment of the Law on Combating Human Trafficking, both approved by State Great Khural of Mongolia on January 17, 2024. The Ministry expressed readiness to collaborate on various policy matters within this framework.

In attendance were M. Nomintsetseg, a Specialist from the Political Department of the U.S. Embassy; B. Tsogbayar, Director of the Child Protection Compact Partnership; and G. Gantulga, Deputy Director.
